Many
common health conditions impact sexuality, including chronic pain,
limited range of motion, sleep problems, diabetes, hormone imbalances,
depression, cancer, migraines, and more. Studies show that BOTH patients
and physicians are hesitant to bring up sexual issues with each other.
We
therapists are left with the vital role of raising the issue of
sexuality: assessing impacts on patients' functioning, validating
patients' concerns, and discussing coping strategies.
This
seminar will examine the sexual implications of a wide range of medical
issues. We'll also focus on helping patients adapt their sexual
activity to their health situation.
